In 1958 at the opening of a new elementary school, a group of students place items in a celebratory time capsule to be buried in the grounds. Fast forwarding 50 years its discovered on opening the capsule that a strange young girl who reportedly heard voices has left a cryptic message predicting all the major disasters of the past 50 years. Ted Myles (Nicolas Cage) becomes entangled in a supernatural world as he discovers the message contains events yet to happen and realizing he may have to fight to save human kind from disaster alone, as his warnings of disaster fall on deaf ears.
