Fred Cheaver (Tim Robbins) is a soldier home for good from the army and the war in Iraq unexpectedly ends up being thrown into a hired car travelling to his destination with two companions T.K. Poole (Michael Pena) and Colee Dunn (Rachel McAdams) who are also soldiers in the army enjoying a 30 day leave.
